Established in 1970, Phantip Travel is the largest and most successful operator of bus and minivan services between Surat Thani and other destinations in Southern Thailand. Phantip Travel started out providing local transport services within Surat Thani Province, connecting the city, its train station and its airport with the ferry ports for travel to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui and has now expanded to intercity routes and connections to ferry ports in other provinces.

Phantip Travel currently operates services connecting Surat Thani with Khao Sok National Park. Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Krabi, Ao Nang, Phuket, Phang Nha, Railay Beach, Ratchaprapha Dam, Donsak, Hat Yai and Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Phantip Travel operates bus services from Surat Thani to Donsak. There are two major car ferry ports in Donsak. The Seatran Ferry Company operates car ferry services to Koh Samui from it port in Donsak. The Raja Ferry Company operates car ferries to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan from its port in Donsak. Phantip Travel bus services go to both of these ferry terminals.

Phantip Travel operates frequent minivan services from outside its office in Surat Thani Town centre direct to Surat Thani Airport, which is 27 km away. The price of a minivan ticket (140 THB) is much less than the cost of a taxi or tuk tuk to the airport (500 to 800 THB). By minivan the journey time is 50 minutes.

Phantip Travel operates frequent minivan services from various locations in Surat Thani to near to the western entrance to Khao Sok National Park. The drop off point is close to a range of hotels where you can stay whilst visiting the national park. The journey time is 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on your departure point.

Phantip Travel operates joint bus and ferry services from Surat Thani to Koh Phi Phi. The service takes passengers all the way to Tonsai Pier on Koh Phi Phi in about 5 hours, travelling via Klong Jilard Pier in Krabi Province where passenger board a ferry operated by partner travel company for the sea crossing which takes around 1 hour 30 minutes

Phantip Travel operates both minivan and bus services to Krabi. Bus services travel to Krabi Bus Terminal and minivan services travel direct into Krabi Town. Heading direct into Krabi Town is a better option if are planning to then travel by ferry onto one of the island as it is closer to the ferry piers.

Phantip Travel bus services travel to Koh Lanta via the car ferry which arrives on Koh Lanta at Klong Mak Pier. The drop off point is Saladan Pier on Koh Lanta, which the main town on the island.
