About Nakhon Sawan
Nakhon Sawan is a town with a population of around 100,000 located in the lower part of the Northern Region in Thailand. Nakhon Sawan is not a popular destination for tourists. The town is, however, pleasant and picturesque. At the centre of Nakhon Sawan is Paradise Park, which is located around the edge of a large lake which used to be a swamp. Many of the town’s hotel and most popular bars and restaurants are located on the ring road around the park.

The most famous tourist attraction in Nakhon Sawan is Wat Khiriwong. The centre piece of Wat Khiriwong is the Phra Chulamani Chedi which is a golden pagoda on a hill top. It’s a long, but worthwhile, walk from the town to the Phra Chulamani Chedi. The pagoda itself is an impressive structure and from its elevated location there are great views of the town and surrounding countryside. Inside the pagoda there are lots of Buddha statues, including replicas of the four most Buddha statues in Thailand. The large Wat Nakhon Sawan near Paradise Park is also worth visiting if you are in the area.
