About Prachuap Khiri Khan
Prachuap Khiri Khan town is one of Thailand’s ‘hidden gems’ which is well known to Thai travellers, but receives very few foreign visitors who tend to go to better known tourist destinations such as nearby Hua Hin. Prachuap Khiri Khan has a lot going for it. It is a very pretty town with a pleasant town centre seafront area, relaxed atmosphere, nearby beaches, inexpensive hotels, fantastic seafood restaurants and one of Thailand’s most attractive train stations which is a short walk from the town centre.

There are two major attractions in Prachuap Khiri Khan town which people come there specifically to see. For Thai visitors the big selling point of the town is the row of seafood restaurants clustered on the seafront road in the town centre. These restaurants are all great value for money, and they range from formal dining establishments with prices to match to restaurants that also serve great food which are little more than plastic tables and chairs in front of a mobile cooking station. The other major attraction in Prachuap Khiri Khan town is Wat Thammikaram Worawihan, also known as the Monkey Temple, which is a small hill top temple with 360 degree views of the surrounding area and lots of wild monkeys. The walk up Khao Chong Krajok hill to Wat Thammikaram Worawihan starts about 750 metres to the north of Prachuap Khiri Khan town centre.
