About Prachuap Khiri Khan
Prachuap Khiri Khan is a pleasant seaside town just a few hours south of Bangkok. Prachuap Khiri Khan is not as popular with foreign tourists as Hua Hin or Pattaya, but is a well known destination for Thai holidaymakers many of whom come for weekends breaks to escape the stifling heat and pollution of Bangkok.
Prachuap Khiri Khan’s major selling point is its relaxed atmosphere. The town centre is right on the seafront with a charming pier which you walk on with a miniature lighthouse. The main seafront road has lots of value for money seafood restaurants which attract large groups of Thai people on short breaks to the town. The town also has some very good inexpensive hotels, such as the Prachuap Grand Hotel.

The major tourist attraction in Prachuap Khiri Khan is Wat Thammikaram Worawihan, also known as the monkey temple. Wat Thammikaram Worawihan is large temple part of which is located at the top of Khao Chong Krajok hill. Those visitors prepared to complete the 20 minute walk up to the top are rewarded a 360 degree view of the surrounding area, which is very beautiful, and by entertained by the large troop of wild monkeys who live on the hill.
