About Koh Lipe
Koh Lipe is a small island 3 km long and 1.8 km at its widest point. You can easily walk all the way around the island in a day, and across the island in less than an hour. Despite it’s small size, Koh Lipe receives lots of visitors during its 6 month tourist season from November to April. The busiest part of the island is Walking Street which runs off Pattaya Beach nearly all the way to Sunrise Beach. Walking Street is where a lot of the accommodation, bars, restaurants and most of the shops are located. Walking Street gets very busy in the evening and is the only part of island with any ‘nightlife’.

Pattaya Beach is where the speed boats and ferries arrive during the high season. It’s a really nice beach but most people wouldn’t choose to sunbathe or swim there from 09:00 to 16:00 because of all the boats arriving and departing through out that period. Much more popular is Sunrise Beach on the other side of the island. Sunrise Beach has very clear water and for this reason Koh Lipe is often described as the ‘Maldives of Thailand’. From Sunrise Beach you can swim out to two small islands near the coast which are good snorkelling spots. From Sunrise Beach you also have clear view of the larger neighbouring island of Koh Adang, which is uninhabited.
