There are several ferry services a day from Koh Samui to Koh Tao operated by three different ferry companies.
If you are flying from Bangkok to Koh Samui then the easiest option for onward travel from Koh samui to Koh Tao is to travel with the Seatran Discovery whose Bangrak Pier is very close (2.2 km) to the airport. Seatran Discovery ferries take 2 hours to reach Koh Tao from Koh Samui.
Songserm Ferry to Koh TaoThere are also three ferries a day from Na Thon Ferry Pier to Koh Tao. Two of those ferries are operated by the Lomprayah High Speed Ferry company and take between 1 hour 45 minutes and 3 hours to reach Koh Tao.
The other ferry from Na Thon is operated by the Songserm company and this is the cheapest ferry from Koh Samui to Koh Tao taking 3 hours to complete the crossing to Koh Tao.
The third place from which you can take a ferry to Koh Tao is Maenam Ferry Pier. There is a single ferry per day from Maenam Ferry Pier in Koh Samui to Koh Tao operated by the Lomprayah High Speed Ferry company which completes the journey in only 1 hour 30 minutes.
