Paradise Park in Paradise Park
Paradise Park is a large public park with a lake located in the centre of Nakhon Sawan town. Paradise Park is in many ways the defining feature of Nakhon Sawan. Large number of local people come to the park to exercise or simply relax, and the town’s best hotels, liveliest bars and busiest restaurants are all located around the edge of the park.
Paradise Park is shaped like the letter ‘p’, 1,300 metres long by 500 metres at its widest point. The lake in the middle of the park contains an island accessible by two bridges, one of which is an attractive white suspension bridge. On the island is a derelict music stage with a backdrop that looks like a rock face, but is made of plastic. The rest of the park has been much better maintained. At the eastern end of the park is free to us gym equipment which is very well used by local people. The park also has a stake park, fields for playing the Asian game of Woodball and a running track around the outside of the park. Paradise Park is open every day from 07:00 to 18:00 and admission is free. This is a great place to go for a fun or a walk. Alcohol and cigarettes are banned from the park and there are city officials stationed inside the park to enforce this rule.
