About Ao Nang
The small town of Ao Nang is the location of the most popular beach in mainland Krabi Province in Thailand. Every year over the tourist season (normally 1st November to 30th April) tens of thousands of people come to stay near the 1.4 km Ao Nang Beach, with some visitors never venturing beyond the town for the duration of their holiday. Thailand has many great beaches and many great places to visit and for people who have never visited Ao Nang it is something of a mystery as to why Ao Nang is so popular.

There are a number of reasons why Ao Nang is so successful as a tourist destination:
- The Beach: Ao Nang is a great beach. The sand is clean. There are great views of a sea cliff at the eastern end of the beach. The sea is safe for swimming.
- Accessibility: Ao Nang is only 23.3 km from Krabi International Airport. There are lots of cheap flights from Bangkok to Krabi with no frills airlines such as Nok Air and Thai AirAsia. There are also direct bus services from Bangkok to nearby Krabi Bus Terminal.
- Amenities: There are lots of shops, restaurant and bars along the beach front and in the town, including well known Western brand fast food restaurants which will appeal to younger visitors. Ao Nang also has a wide variety of hotels, guest houses and resorts to suit all budgets, and fierce competitions amongst the many establishments seeking customers keeps prices relatively low.
