About Koh Kood
Koh Kood, also known as Koh Kut, is a medium sized Thai island on the Gulf coast of Thailand near to Cambodia. The island, measuring 22.6 km long by 9.7 km at its widest point, is relatively undeveloped with no major towns. The largest village, Ao Salad, has 300 residents out of a total permanent island population of about 2,500 people. There is a bank, 3 ATM machines, a police station, a small hospital and a road network which is partially concreted and not much else in the way of infrastructure.

What Koh Kood does have in abundance, however, is lots of beaches with resorts, restaurants, bars and in some places basic mini marts. The are no franchise businesses such as 7-Eleven convenience stores on Koh Kood. Of the 7 main beaches, Bang Bao Beach is probably the most beautiful. Koh Kood also has two waterfalls with pools underneath where you can swim, Klong Chao and Klong Yai Ki Waterfall, and a cave to explore, Khao Rearub. Koh Kood is not somewhere with lively nightlife or many places of interest to visit. It’s all about a peaceful beach experience with the option to go scuba diving or kayaking. The island is more expensive for food and drink than mainland Thailand and the food options are limited to mainly Thai food, although there is an Italian restaurant on the island and most resorts have some ‘International’ dishes on the menu.
