About Trang
Trang is a medium sized Southern Thai with no major tourist attractions in the town itself and very few foreign visitors. The town is a very nice place, where some interesting food is served, the people are very pleasant, is great value for money, has some decent hotels, but everything shuts very early in the evening and there is not a lot to do in the day time. A one to two hour walk around the town takes you past some interesting old buildings, authentic Thai markets and a growing body of street art. Most foreign visitors who come to Trang do so on the way to somewhere else. Trang is the connection point between train and long distance bus services and ferries or long tail boats to the islands of Koh Kradan, Koh Bulone, Koh Ngai and Koh Libong.

If you can arrange some transport then there are more points of interest located out in the countryside around Trang, which is hilly and densely forested. The treetop walkways at Thung Khai Botanical Garden, about 10 km from Trang, are well worth visiting as is Le Khao Kob Cave, 35 km north of Trang, which has several partially submerged large caverns that you need to take a local boat tour to visit.
