About Nong Khai Saturday Night Market

Nong Khai, on the border with Laos, comes to life every Saturday during its weekly night market. The Saturday Night Market stretches along over a 1 km of the Rim Khong Alley, which runs along the river front in Nong Khai town centre. Nong Khai’s Saturday Night has a very lively atmosphere and it’s very well attended by locals and visitors to the town. Nong Khai is a quiet town which travellers tend only to pass through on the way to or from Laos and it has very little other nightlife than its weekly night market.

The eastern end of Nong Khai Saturday Night Market starts near the Indochina Market. As part of the Night Market a stage with lots of tables and chairs in front is erected at this end of the market with musicians playing for most of the evening. The market itself is mix of stalls selling food, toys, clothes, kitchenware and other items. There are also displays of traditional dancing and areas where children activities are available such as painting models. The market also attracts a lot of buskers playing mostly traditional instruments.
