About Prachuap Khiri Khan

Prachuap Khiri Khan is low key tourist town which is much more popular with Thai holiday makers than with foreign holidays makers. The swimming beaches in Prachuap Khiri Khan are located a few kilometres to the south of the town centre and the train station. What the town centre has is road full of inexpensive seafood restaurants and stalls on the seafront. These seafood restaurants are very popular with Thai visitors and one of the main reason they come here, as well the general ambience of the town and the affordability of the hotels there.

The other big attraction in Prachuap Khiri Khan town is Wat Thammikaram Worawihan, also known as the Monkey Temple. Wat Thammikaram Worawihan has a small temple on top of a large hill overlooking Prachuap Khiri Khan Town. The hill is full of wild macaque monkeys who sit on the the stairs leading up to the top of the hill. The temple itself is not particularly impressive but the views from the platform on which the temple sits are breath taking. The hill is the highest point in the area and from top of the hill you get unobstructed 360 degree views of the surrounding coastline and countryside.
