About Prachinburi
Prachinburi is small town which was at one time (about 800 years ago) a prosperous trading centre but is now a small provincial with few tourists amenities. The principal reason why tourists come to Prachinburi is that it is near the Southern entrance to the Khao Yai National Park.

An exciting way to explore the park is to rent a motorbike in Prachinburi and drive through the park up to the town of Pak Chong on the Northern side of the park. The total distance from Prachinburi to Pak Chong town is 92.8 km, of which about 60 km runs through the national park on sealed roads. The road passes by some great sights, such as the Haew Narok Waterfall. For visitors who venture through the park on this route they have a good chance of encountering the wild animals of the park, some of whom will be on the road. Watch out for gibbons, macque monkeys and muntjac deer. If you are very lucky you may even see a leopard or crocodile.
