About Koh Phangan

Thong Sala Ferry Pier is walking distance from a small number of resorts in Thong Sala and at the western end of Bantai Beach. For every where else you need to take a shared taxi, motorbike taxi, or rent a motorbike which is a popular but slightly dangerous option if you are not used to driving on Thailand’s notoriously dangerous road network. The cheapest form of local transport in Koh Phangan is shared taxis (songthaew). The shared taxis at Thong Sala Ferry Pier all charge the same amount for a shared taxi, although they do charge different prices if you want to hire the whole car privately or you want to travel before the shared taxi is full. The charge for a shared taxi from Thong Ferry Pier is 200 THB per person for the journey to Haad Rin and 300 THB for the journey to Thong Nai Pan or Haad Yao. There are no meter taxis in Koh Phangan.
