Wat Pha That in Kamphaeng Phet
Wat Phra That is a 15th Century temple located in the Central Zone of Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park. Wat Phra That is the second largest walled temple in Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, the first in Wat Phra Kaew which is very close to Wat Pha That. Both What Phra That and Wat Phra Kaew were built close to a royal palace which existed in the same period as these two temples were constructed. The closeness of Wat Phra That to the royal palace suggests that important holy relics were kept at this large temple.

Wat Phra That consisted of three chedis and a large prayer hall all surrounded by a perimeter wall. The base of the wall and the prayer hall are all that remains of these parts of the temple. The main chedi and one of the smaller chedi are still standing, although the third chedi has collapsed. The bricks used to build the temple have long since disappeared from the site suggesting that the temple may have been taken apart at some point for building materials for other structures. The Central Zone of Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park is open every day from 08:00 to 17:00 and admission costs 100 THB per person for foreign visitors.
