Two major ferry ports are located in Donsak: Donsak Seatran Ferry Pier and Donsak Raja Ferry Port. Seatran operates two types of service. There is the Seatran Discovery Ferry which goes to Koh Samui then Koh Phangan and finally Koh Tao with departures at 11:00 and 14:30 every day. The Seatran Company also operates an inexpensive car ferry to Koh Samui which departs every hour, on the hour, from 06:00 to 19:00.
The other ferry company operating out of Donsak is the Raja ferry company. The Raja ferry company operates inexpensive car ferry services which travel direct to both Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The Raja ferry is the best ferry to take for budget travel to Koh Phangan. Raja ferry services from Donsak to Koh Samui depart every hour, on the hour, from 05:00 to 18:00 with last ferry of the day at 19:30. Services to Koh Phangan depart once every 2 hours, on the hour, from 06:00 to 18:00 which is the last ferry of the day. The journey by Raja ferry from Donsak to Koh Phangan takes 3 hours. Be aware that the frequency of both the Raja and Seatran car ferry services sometimes reduces in October and November (which is the rainy season) due to lack of customers in which case some of the ferries are cancelled and passenger sometimes need to wait up to 2 hours for the next ferry.
