About Koh Phi Phi
Whilst both Koh Ngai and Koh Phi Phi are both tropical islands in the Andaman Sea, the contrast between the two places couldn’t be greater. Koh Ngai is a quiet island that focuses on luxury tourism and day round tranquillity. Both way of contrast Koh Phi Phi is a busy (some would say overdeveloped) island with a raucous nightlife and a mostly younger target group of visitors. Koh Phi Phi’s major attraction for day trippers, Maya beach on Phi Phi Le Island, has now been closed to all visitors for the foreseeable future, however, there is still plenty of spectacular scenery to see and that makes a trip to Koh Phi Phi worth while in its own.

If you are island hoping around the Andaman then perhaps considering only dedicating one or two nights to Koh Phi Phi. The days when the island was somewhere to spend week chilling out in beach bungalows is gone, however, we still recommend a visit to climb to the viewpoint and a boat trip around the island to see the cliffs. If your budget will stretch to it head up to Leam Thong Beach in the north of the island, which is much quieter, and stay in one of the nice resorts there instead of around Ton Sai Bay.
