About Krabi

Krabi Province is a great place to visit on holiday, as well as a good access point to reach popular Thai islands such as Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. The main town in the province is called Krabi Town. Krabi Town is one of the lesser visited places in the area but also one of the most interesting.

Amongst the attractions worth seeing in Krabi Town are Krabi Night Market, Maharaj Market (the largest food market in Southern Thailand, and Wat Tham Suea (the Tiger Cave Temple). Mainland Krabi Province also has some good beaches, the most popular of which are Ao Nang Beach and Railay Beach, which you can only reach by boat.

If you are planning to travel from Krabi to one of the islands then we recommend that you go to Klong Jilad, which is the main long distance ferry pier located 4 km south of Krabi Town. Ferries to Koh Phi Phi depart every day fand take from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours to reach Koh Phi Phi depending upon which ferry you take. From Koh Phi Phi you can travel onward to Koh Lanta to connect with a speedboat or ferry service to Koh Lipe.
