About Koh Lipe
Koh Lipe is a very small island just 3 km at it longest point. You can easily walk all the way around the island in a single afternoon. The main shopping and eating area is Walking Street which becomes busy in the evening time. Walking Street has lots of bars and restaurants and the island’s only branch of 7-Eleven where some of the products costing twice as much as on the mainland. Walking Street’s busiest restaurant is Progress Seafood Buffet which charge a set fee of 490 THB for an all you can eatbuffet, which is very popular with the large numbers of Malaysian and Chinese tourists who come to Koh Lipe.
There are several beaches on Koh Lipe, the busiest and best of which is Sunrise Beach on the east coast of the island. Sunrise Beach runs 1.2 km from the south to north with fine white sand, clear waters and views of the larger neighbouring island of Koh Adang. There are also two smaller islands just off Sunrise Beach which are good for snorkelling and kayaking around. There are some beachfront resorts on Sunrise Beach and a variety of places to eat and drink. Because the island is so small it is easy to walk from Sunrise Beach to Walking Street in the evening or indeed to one of the other beaches on the island.
