About Travel to Koh Yao Noi
Koh Yao Noi is second largest island in Phang Nga Bay, which separates Krabi from Phuket. Koh Yao Noi is smaller and less developed than the larger neighbouring island of Koh Yao Yai and a good choice of destination for those seeking quiet beaches and a base for a boat trip around Phang Nga Bay. Koh Yao Noi has a range of different types of accommodation from the very luxurious Six Senses Yao Noi to very cheap bungalow operations such as Cha Bungalows. The same is true of the range of restaurants on the island. Koh Yao Noi also has shops, including a branch of 7-Eleven.

Koh Yao Noi is a relatively small island compared to Phuket or Koh Samui. The ring road around the outside of the island can be negotiated on a scooter in under 2 hours, although travelling that fast around the island would be pointless as their beaches dotted around the coastline worth visiting. Koh Yao Noi doesn’t have as much tourist development as Phuket or Koh Samui either. The indigenous local population, most of whom are Muslim, live in small villages and the main industries are fishing and agriculture. Rice is grown on Koh Yao Noi. Nonetheless, Koh Yao Noi isn’t without tourist facilities. There is a yoga centre, a muay thai gym and diving centres, as well as some upmarket resports and restaurants. Koh Yao Noi offers the unspoilt tropical island experience many visitors to Thailand are looking for, whilst providing enough amenities to make a stay their comfortable.
